Chiefs to Kick Off Season Against the Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil

The Chiefs will open up the 2025 season on the international stage

The complete schedule for the 2025 season will be revealed later Wednesday night, but prior to the overall announcement, it was confirmed that the Kansas City Chiefs will begin the upcoming season with a matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers at Corinthians Arena in São Paulo, Brazil.

This will mark the fourth time in the last 11 seasons that Kansas City has played a regular-season game internationally. The Chiefs played the Detroit Lions in London, United Kingdom in 2015, the Chargers in Mexico City, Mexico in 2019, and the Miami Dolphins in Frankfurt, Germany in 2023.

In fact, as soon as the Chiefs take the field in Brazil, Kansas City will become the first franchise to play a regular-season game in four countries outside of the United States in NFL history. Additionally, the Chiefs will also become the only team in NFL history to play a regular-season game in three different countries outside of North America.

This will mark the second-ever regular-season game to take place in Brazil. The Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers took part in the inaugural matchup in Brazil last season.

The full schedule will be revealed on Wednesday night. In the meantime, for a look at the Chiefs' opponents in 2025, click here.
