The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Thursday that the team has signed defensive lineman Jaye Howard. Terms of the contract will not be released by the club.

"We were able to reach an agreement with Jaye Howard and his representatives to keep him in Kansas City," Chiefs General Manager John Dorsey said. "Jaye had a very productive season last year and grew significantly. His versatility allows us to do a lot of different things up front. We are glad he will remain with us."

Howard (6-3, 301) has played in 37 games (24 starts) in his three-year NFL career, with his first season in Kansas City coming in 2013. Howard had a career year in 2015, playing in 16 games (13 starts), with 57 tackles (36 solo), 11 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and two fumble recoveries. Howard's career numbers include 99 tackles (65 solo), 15 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks and 15 quarterback pressures. In three career postseason contests, all with Kansas City, Howard has recorded seven tackles as well as 1.0 sack. Before coming to the Chiefs via waivers prior to the 2013 regular season, Howard originally entered the NFL as the Seahawks' fourth-round pick (114th overall) in the 2012 NFL Draft.
