Chiefs Injury Update: Andy Reid on Spencer Ware, Others

Ware suffered a sprained knee in Friday night’s game against Seattle

Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid had an injury update on running back Spencer Ware following Kansas City's loss to Seattle on Friday night.

"Ware sprained his knee," Reid said. "The X-rays were negative and he'll have an MRI tomorrow. We'll just see how that turns out."

Ware suffered the injury on Kansas City's opening drive and was carted off the field. The four-year veteran was the Chiefs leading rusher last season.

Defensive tackle Roy Miller, who was made his Chiefs debut on Friday night after signing with Kansas City in early August, was also injured in the game, though Reid indicated he didn't think it was anything serious.

"Roy Miller had a hamstring spasm," Reid said. "A little bit of that is just having not played and getting him back into the swing of things."

Linebacker Justin Houston was a late scratch prior to the game with the flu, according to Reid.

Safety Eric Berry also didn't play on Friday as he continues to nurse a heel injury.

"He came out and he practiced," Reid said. "He was actually sore from that, physically sore from the practices, and then the leg flared up just a little bit, so I just backed off from him."

The Chiefs wrap up the preseason on Thursday against the Tennessee Titans at Arrowhead Stadium.
